What is on my plate....
Let's PAINT! This is the perfect opportunity to use acrylic paint to explore color, shape, and composition. This can be conceptual or literal. If you choose to go the conceptual route... let's consider your possible AP Sustained Investigation. The paintings below were all created by high school art students from Patterson Mill High School under the guidance of their teacher, Miss Alison Comoglio Filicko.
How to start? The photography comes first!
- "Fill your plate"
- Place your plate near a light source - preferable a window
- Make sure the surface your plate is on makes visual "sense" with your color palette.
- Take multiple photographs from above your plate.
- Edit only if needed.
How to start the painting?
- Submit your photograph to Ms. A
- Ms. A will print and enlarge your photograph
- Transfer photograph with a graphite transfer
- Begin to "color-block" the largest shapes - we will work our way up in layers.
