Course Overview
Drawing & Painting III/IV is the precursor to Advanced Placement Art. We will use this year to begin a possible AP Portfolio...
The AP Portfolio consists of 15 works of art resulting from an "inquiry-based sustained investigation".
Each quarter we will practice observation and composition skills, while simultaneously exploring concept. These studies and works of art will assist students in understanding why and how art is made. Each student will learn how to apply research, practice, revision & reflection to all they create.
College portfolio development will also be discussed. Students are asked to research the portfolio requirements of the schools they might apply to in order to find specifics. Every school is different and each one can ask for various types of work.
