Oil Painting Supplies
If you can only buy one red... choose Cadmium Red.
If you can only buy one yellow... choose Cadmium Yellow Light by Winton or a medium-colored Cadmium Yellow by another brand. (Winton's Cadmium Yellow Light is actually not LIGHT... kind of a mid-tone which is what you want)
If you can only buy two blues... buy Cobalt & Cerulean. If only one is in your budget, stick to Cobalt.
Optional:
Grumbacher Sun-Thickened Linseed Oil
- Natural Turpenoid
- Latex-Free Disposable Gloves
- Old Washcloth(s)
- Toolbox to hold supplies
- Glass Jar with a screen and a lid - You can wash a salsa jar in the dishwasher or buy this pre-made jar for cleaning (or any other ones you see)
- Palette Paper 12" x 16"
- Container for palette paper
- Brushes for Oil Paint - I recommend Princeton Series 6100 Synthetic Bristle Brushes - Sizes are up to you! I tend to use small flat brushes most of the time, for example Flat Size 2 (1/4" width), Flat size 6 (1/2" width), Flat size 10 (3/4" width). For tiny details I use a very tiny round brush (Princeton Series 6100 Round 2/0 or size 1)
- Oil Paints - I highly recommend Winton Oil Paints as a brand. Please choose your brand based on YOUR budget! You only really NEED the primary colors and white!
